Blues; i agree;there's no point exaggerating the numbers;any inconsistancies are jumped on so quickly and used to 'disprove' the whole issue.I too am just SO fed up with the superior attitude; especially as it is unjustified and blinkered.I can just imagine the conversations that will go on to try and disprove all this...there's got to be some backlash though;i'm so glad I told so many before I ran-perhaps they will see 'our' 'prophecies' start to happen and think!!!

we had stopped at a mcd's in connecticut for me ("tiny tanks") to go potty.
as i was returning to the car, 2 different older gentlemen approached me with the magazines.

Unfortunately i'm not holding my breath over the Dateline programme.
I am unofficially being marked,but still called on occasionally to be 'offered' the mags. I told them that the pedophile issue was another reason i'd rather not have them.
They replied that they knew this was coming and that they had ...ALL BEEN TOLD TO EXPECT AN ONSLAUGHT FROM SATAN!
When I replied that the allegations were real and not just rumours they replied that while some COULD be true-it was a refining process and that the majority WOULD'NT be!How clever they are,they can predict court cases with such a degree of accuracy it makes jurors virtually unnecessary.
they said they were ready to weather the storm,they likened it to being dragged before the law courts..but not being afraid blah,blah.
This is in England,and the Dateline prog is'nt even on here, the GB(?)must be warning of an attack as though it's a false accusation that needs to be ignored,getting in to their mind set nice and early to get them to switch off emotionally-sick eh??BUT WHAT CAN YOU DO???

her ladyship and myself recently lost a great friend, an ex-submariner known to his ship-mates as knocker john.
(all sub-mariners are nick-named knocker, they were taught to knock on the hull of their submarine when it foundered so that divers could locate them).. we all gathered together in his pub my pub too - to pay tribute to a great friend.

Sorry to hear you've lost a good friend.It does sound a very healthy day though. At least it means you appreciate them more when they're here..The WT funeral talks are almost disrespectful in their throw-away attitude of the dear departed...scripture..blah, blah they'll be back soon...
they don't bother with much eulogy- very bland and impersonnal-your friends' wake sounded so tailored to his personality-
My husband wants 'fire starter'by the Prodigy at his cremation,then partying with fireworks into the night and a bonfire...??!! -

Big Brother - UK Style
by KenUK inwell here we go in the uk - big brother for the next 64 days.... but here i was watching "have i got news for you", the slaughtering of the presenter for being caught with his pants down etc in the wonderful sunday tabloid "news of the world" last weekend, when the 'phone rings.... my ex-wife, (conversation once a year etc etc), on the telephone, saying look at big brother , its spencer... and yes as i turned over... it was spencer... bear with me guys:-).
now i can see spencer knocking on doors and giving talks not many moons ago, prior to and after my d/f... yup, big brother's got (to the best of my knowledge) its first ex jw.... interesting watching (and i enjoy big brother as much as eastenders and corrie...) guess i'll watch now:-).
(spencer, eldest of 3 jw children (surname witheld by me), parents still in the "truth", and regular drinking partners of myself and ex a few years back whilst in the same cong and still only a few miles away..)

My girls made me watch BB tonight; I can't remember a 'Spencer',i'll definately watch again though now;his life's looking a tad more interesting now then?Good luck to him...though if he's embarassed by his past I don't hold out much hope for his privacy once the papers start...
